What, Why and When?
MAJ is a YouTube channel run by Zag and Shaadi. Zag is originally from Istanbul, and Shaqdi is from Sweden.MAJ's studio is located in London, UK. Zag and Shaqdi are both working full time for MAJ. We uploaded our first vinyl mix video in November 2017, focusing on Turkish music from the 70s. This and most of our older MAJ videos are now blocked due to copyright restrictions.
Why do you need my support?
Copyright restrictions have been a significant challenge for the channel. To keep the videos visible, the mixes must exclude certain songs from specific artists represented by particular publishers. All other songs that we can use in the mix get monetized automatically, and the ad revenue is paid by YouTube directly to the copyright owners.
As a result, 99.9% of the yearly viewership on the MAJ channel don't generate any income for us due to copyrighted music usage. We can only monetize roughly 0.7% of the total viewership from our original content.
MAJ's mission is to share high-quality vinyl only mixes with their community. To do that and to afford our studio space and cover the expenses WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!
